THE SPLINTER GROUP comes to Cheltenham
THE SPLINTER GROUP Flyer

On Saturday 7th June 1997, I was back at Cheltenham Town Hall, this time to see THE SPLINTER GROUP featuring PETER GREEN (who was one of the founder members of FLEETWOOD MAC). The concert itself was a little disappointing as the vocal mix was not correct, in fact sometimes you could not hear the vocals at all. However, you could still recognise certain tunes like; RATTLESNAKE SHAKE, GREEN MANALISHI, BLACK MAGIC WOMAN, and the best one of the night ALBATROSS.

Although I went to see THE SPLINTER GROUP I actually thought that the support band (who were called THE PRODUCERS) sounded better, a factor that made me buy one of their CD's and join their mailing list.

After the show I went backstage and met all the members of THE SPLINTER GROUP which included NEIL MURRAY (ex-Whitesnake) on Bass, and COZY POWELL (ex-Rainbow) on Drums.
